Queridos hermanos en Cristo.
Saludos de todos ustedes de parte de los hermanos en la iglesia en Guanajuato.
Este es el reporte de lo que paso el dia de ayer domingo 19 de Diciembre.

Fuimos 21 personas en el servicio y como es de esperar varios (13) ya no vinieron a la iglesia pues han salido de vacaciones; Otros (como la hermana Leti y la hermana Esther) estuvieron enfermas y lo siguen todavia.

Dear brothers in Christ,

Greetings to all of you on behalf of the brethren from the church in Guanajuato.

This is the report of what happened yesterday, December 19th.

There were 21 people at the service, and there were 13 who didn't come because they had left on vacation.  Others (like sister Leti and sister Esther) were sick yet still came.

Tambien la familia del hermano Sergio tuvieron un grave accidente el sabado, chocaron de frente contra un trailer y gracias a Dios de las 5 personas nadie murio pero si estan bastante lastimadas. unos fueron al hospital de Guanajuato y otros fueron al hospital de leon.

Also, the family of brother Sergio had a bad accident Saturday.  They crashed head-on into a truck and thanks to God that none of the 5 people died.  They were badly injured, however.  Some went to the hospital in Guanajuato and others went to the hospital in Leon.
Hemos tenido algunos problemas de salud y transporte, y otras cosas, pero tambien estamos contentos tendremos otro bautizo, en esta ocasión será Cuauhtemoc (Hijo de Elio y Maru) él ha estado viniendo a los servicio dominicales desde hace tres meses y ha estado estudiando, así que estas son las buenas nuevas de lo que esta pasando.

We have had some problems with health and transportation, and other things, but also we are satisfied.  We will have another baptism...this time it will be Cuauhtemoc (son of Elio and Maru.)  He has been coming to the Sunday services for the last three months and has been studying.  So that is some good news of what is happening.

Tambien debo de decirles que en los servicios dominicales ya estan participando los hermanos, ayer Valentin dirigio los cantos y la cena, Elio hizo la Oración y Sergio la ofrenda. Cuauhtemoc nos ayudo pasando la charola de la cena y la ofrenda y esto lo ha animado y se siente parte de la iglesia. (Ahora que se bautise, podrá hacer más cosas).

Also I should tell you that in the Sunday services the brothers are still participating.  Yesterday Valentin directed the songs and the communion.  Elio said a prayer and Sergio handled the offering.  Cuauhtemoc helped us passing the communion and offering.  This made him happy and made him feel a part of the church (now that he had been baptized, he can do more things.)

These are some of the things that are happening in the church.

Queridos hermanos en Cristo.


Este es el reporte de lo que paso este domingo 12 de diciembre del 2010.

Fuimos en esta ocasión 31 personas en total.

Despues de la boda de Sergio y Nalleli se acercaron para platicar Enrique y Carla y me dijeron que ellos tambien desean casarse.

Dear Christian brothers and sisters,

This is the report of what happened this sunday, December 12, 2010.

This time, there were 31 people in attendance.

After the wedding of Sergio and Nalleli, Enrique and Carla came over to talk to me and they told me that they also want to be married.


Las otras dos parejas que estan en la iglesia y que tambien se van a casar el proximo año son Beto y Veronica; e Israel y Ana

Pido sus oraciones por Cuahutemoc (Hijo de Maru y Eliodoro) el tiene un buen corazón sin embargo antes de estar con nosotros se acerco a un grupo denominacional y como suele pasar se aprovecharon de su nobleza y lo lastimaron y ahora esta un poco cauteloso en lo que se refiere a la palabra de Dios.

Por favor pido de sus oraciones por el y por mi para que pueda enseñarle la verdad con amor y paciencia.

The other two couple that are in the church and who also are going to be married in the coming year are Beto and Varonica  and Israel and Ana.

I ask for your prayers for Cuahutemoc (the son of Maru and Eliodoro.)  He has a good heart. Nevertheless, before being with us he met with a denominational group and as sometimes happens, they took advantage of his good heart and they hurt him.  Now he is a little cautious concerning God's word.  I ask for your prayers please for him and for me so that I would be able to teach him the truth with patience and love.

Mañana tendremos la primera reunión de varones en la iglesia en donde estaremos hablando de planes y estrategias para crecer en la iglesia y en compromiso ante los hermanos y Dios

por favor oren para que lleguemos a tomar buenas decisiones y sobre todo que estas glorifique a Dios.

Y sobre todo, muchas gracias por su amor hacia nosotros y por la iglesia en Guanajuato.

Tomorrow we will have the first men's retreat in the church in which we will be talking about the plans and strategies to grow in the church and to grow in our committment before our brethren and before God.  Please pray that will will come to make good decisions and above all that everything we do will glorify God.

That you so much for your help in everything.  Thank you so much for your advice.  And above all, thank you so much for your love towards us and for the church in Guanajuato.

Queridos hermanos.


Reciban un saludo y les deseamos que tengan una muy buena semana, llena de salud y felicidad.

El dia de ayer fuimos en el servicio 23 personas, como ustedes ya saben en esta epoca del año algunos tienen mucho más trabajo de lo normal y eso a sido causa para que varios no vengan al servicio.

Pero gracias a Dios la iglesia continua creciendo y cada vez las personas se van integrandose como familia-amigos.

Dear brethren,

Please receive of greeting and we hope that you have a great week, full of health and happiness. 

Yesterday there were 23 people in the worship service. As you already know, at this time of the year some people have a lot more work than normal, and this has been the reason that some haven't come to church.

However, thanks to God the church keeps growing and people keep becoming involved in the church like family/friends.

Ejemplo de esto fue la Boda que tuvimos el sabado pasado (4 Diciembre) varias personas de la iglesia estuvieron involucradas (damas de honor, ninas, niños)

La boda fue muy bonita y llena de ánimo de parte de los novios, fuimos mas o menos 150-200 personas y gracias a Dios todo salio bien.

One example of this is the wedding that we had last Saturday (December 4th).  Various people from the church were involved (maids of honor, girls, boys)

The wedding was very pretty and full of excitement on the part of the couple to be married.  There were 150-200 people in all, and thanks to God that everything went well.

Ahora nos estamo enfocando a la primera reunión de hombres (local) que será el dia 14 de Diciembre en donde estaremos hablando de las cosas que estan sucediendo en la iglesia y sobre todo hablaremos de la responsabilidad de estar trabajando en la iglesia pido de sus oraciones para que todos entiendan el gran compromiso y entrega que necesitan estos varones: (Valentin, Beto, Sergio, Enrique, Eliodorio y yo)

Now we are focusing on our first men's retreat (local men) that will be December 14th.  At that meeting we will be talking about the things that are happening in the church and aboce all we will talk about the responsibility of working in the church.  I ask for your prayers that all will understand the great committment that these men need (Valentin, Beto, Serrgio, Enrique, Eliodorio, and me)

Como resultado de esta boda una pareja que esta viniendo a la iglesia (Ana e Israel) me dijeron que les gustaria hablar sobre su boda ellos desean casarse en marzo, pero antes quieren seguir estudiando de la palabra.

p.s.  As a result of this wedding, a couple who is coming to the church (Ana and Israel) told me that they would like to talk about their wedding.  They want to get married in March, but before they get married they want to continue studying the Word.

Hola hermanos en Cristo.


Este es el reporte de lo que paso este domingo 28 de noviembre.

Fuimos 32 personas en el servicio.

Estamos muy emocionados por las cosas que están pasando en la iglesia, primero gracias a Dios estamos terminando el año con un crecimiento en la congregación de 19 bautizos en el año 2010 hasta noviembre (Falta diciembre) y tambien tendremos una boda en la iglesia el proximo sabado 4 de Dic.

Dear Christian brethren:

This is the report of what happened this Sunday, November 28th.  There were 32 people in the service.

We are very excited about the things that are happening in the church.  First, thanks be to God that we are finishing the year with a growth in the congregation of 19 baptisms this year through November (and we still have December to go) and also we will have a wedding in the church next Saturday, December 4th.

Sergio y Nayeli se casaron ayer por lo civil y gracias a Dios todo esta saliendo bien para ellos. Sergio es el contador general de la agencia de coches nuevos Ford en Gto, y nos estará ayudando en las finanzas de la iglesia, pero primero nos dará unas platicas sobre como ahorrar. (Dios nos ha enviado una gran ayuda para muchos)

Lamentablemente no todo son buenas noticias, a la hermana Leti le hicieron una operación para quitarle un seno que tenía un tumor de cancer, ella esta bien ahora pero le detectaron 14 más y los están analizando. Pedimos sus oraciones para ella por favor.


Sergio and Nayeli were married legally yesterday and thanks be to God that everything is working out well for them.  Sergio is the general accountant for the Ford dealership in Guanajuato, and he will be helping us with church finances, but first he will give us some talks about how to save money. (God has sent us a great help for many people in Sergio.)

Sadly, not all of the news is good.  They did surgery on sister Leti to remove her breast that had a cancerous tumor.  She is doing well know, but they detected 14 more tumors and they are analyzing the situation.  We ask your prayers for her please.

La lucha es cruel y dificil, sin embargo seguimos adelante confiando en Dios.

The fight is cruel and tough sometimes, but nevertheless we continue forward trusting in God.

El dia 29 de Enero del 2011 por primera vez tendremos una reunión femenil en la iglesia en Gto, estan las mujeres trabajando en manualidades y comida y regalos y lo más importante en el mensaje a las mas de 50 mujeres que vendrán.

Pido de sus oraciones para que esta reunión sea algo que glorifique a Dios.


p.s.  January 29, 2011 we will be having, for the first time, a lady's day in the church in Guanajuato.  The women are working on crafts, food, and gifts and most importantly on the message to the more than 50 women who will come.  I ask for your prayers that this day will be something that glorifies God.

Queridos hermanos en Cristo.


Este es el reporte de lo que esta pasando en la Iglesia en Guanajuato.

Hace tiempo atrás (3 años) que inició la obra misionera en Gto y hemos trabajado muy duro para "ver" llegar este día tan importante en la congregación; Hoy por voluntad de Dios y por su misericordia (y despues de muchos estudios de maduración) los servicios de adoracion estuvieron dirigidos por atros varones hermanos y la predicación fue por mi parte.

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

This is the report of what is happening in the church in Guanajuato.

Some time ago (3 years) I began the missionary work in Guanjuato and we have worked very hard in order to see the arrival of this important day in the congregation:  Today, by God's will and by his mercy (and after many spiritual maturity studies,) the worship services were directed by other brothers and the preaching was by me.

Es realmente hermoso poder ver cómo la iglesia del Señor crece día a día, no solo en número sino tambien en compromiso y fidelidad al Señor.

!Gloria y Honra! a Dios Padre y a nuestro Señor Jesucristo por su misericordia para con su iglesia en Guanajuato.

It is really beautiful to be able to see how the Lord's church grows day by day... not only in number, but also in commitment and faithfulness to the Lord.

Glory and honor! to Father God and to our Lord Jesus Christ for their mercy for the church in Guanajuato.

New Signs for the church building in GTO

Raciel sent these photos of the new signs on the new building in Guanajuato.  This is the first time the church has had its own meeting place (as opposed to meeting in a home) and the growth since the move has been very promising.

The sign on the left says:

During the week we have:
-prayer groups
-handycraft group
-a spiritual growth study (Wednesday)
-praise songs
-childrens' class
-youth class

Queridos hermanos en Cristo.

La Paz y Misericordia de Dios Padre y de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sean con todos ustedes.

Este es el reporte de lo que esta pasando en la iglesia en Guanajuato.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

The peace and mercy of Father God and our Saviour Jesus Christ be with all of you.

This is the report of what is happening in the church in Guanajuato.

Ayer fuimos en el servicio 35 personas (lamentablemente varios hermanos (7) no pudieron venir al servicio porque tuvieron que trabajar el último dia del festival Cervantino, pero gracias a Dios ayer ya terminó) y espero que el próximo domingo estemos todos.

Sin embargo el dia de ayer fue muy hermoso y lleno de armonia, pues se bautizaron para el perdón de sus pecados Leticia, Enrique y Eliodoro.

Yesterday there were 35 people in attendance at the worship (sadly 7 other brothers and sisters were not able to come to the service because they had to work the last day of the Festival Cervantino, but thanks be to God that the festival ended yesterday) and I expect that next week everyone will be there.

Nevertheless yesterday was very beautiful and full of harmony, because Leticia, Enrique and Eliodoro were baptized for the forgiveness of their sins.

Despues del los bautizos, varios nos fuimos a comer Carnes al carbon.

Estamos muy gradecidos con Dios por su Misericordia y su bendición en la obra misionera en Guanajuato.

Muchas gracias hermanos por sus consejos y ayuda Espíritual, emocional y economica.

After the baptisms, some of us went out to eat carnes al carbon (grilled beef.)

We are very thankful to God for his mercy and for his blessing in the missionary work in Guanajuato.

Please recieve our greeting dear brothers:

Wednesday night we had a special class given by brother Les Ferguson (he preaches for the church in Kosciusko, Mississippi  /tkb) - the theme was "The Fruit of the Holy Spirit"  There were 30 people there, including 4 visitors.

I was not able to send any photos because the camera is broken. I am sorry!  Nevertheless we are very excited and satisfied with what is happening in the church.  We are growing and making ourselves known.

El dia miercoles en la noche tuvimos una clase especial impartida por nuestro hermano Les Ferguson, el tema fue "El Espíritu Santo y sus frutos"

La asistencia fue de 30 personas en total y 4 invitados.

No podre enviarles las fotos pues la camara esta descompuesta !Lo siento! sin embargo estamos muy animados y contentos con lo que esta pasando en la iglesia. !Estamos creciendo y dandonos a conocer!

Queridos hermanos en Cristo.


Que la Paz, Gracias y Misericordia de Dios Padre y de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sean con todos ustedes.

Este es el reporte de lo que paso este domingo 17 de octubre.

Despues de estudiar por un tiempo aproximado de 6 semanas sobre el Mesías y el Espiritu Santo Seis (6) personas decidieron bautizarse para el predón de sus pecados, ellos son Maru, Nayeli, Esther, Carla, Emma y Sergio.

Dear Christian brethren,

May the peace, grace and mercy of Father God and our Savior Jesus Christ be with all of you.

This is the report of what happened on Sunday, October 17th.

After studying for a time of about 6 weeks about the Savior and the Holy Spirit, 6 people decided to be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins.  They are Maru, Nayeli, Esther, Carla, Emma, and Sergio.

Todos ellos se dieron cuenta de su condición de pecadores y decidieron conprometerse con su Señor y servirlo para siempre.

Ayer tambin fue un dia muy especial porque además de los bautizos tuvimos a 4 invitados de los cuales (foto) 2 ya han estado estudiando sobre el bautizo y espero que pronto se conviertan en verdaderos cristianos.

Despues del los bautizos tuvimos una comida especial y de verdad todos disfrutamos de esos momentos deliciosos.

All of them realized their condition as sinners and decided to pledge themselves to their Lord and to serve him forever.

Yesterday was also special because in addition to the baptisms we had 4 guests, of which 2 of them have already studied about baptism.  I hope that soon they too will be converted into true Christians.

After the baptisms we had a special meal, and we all truly enjoyed those delicious moments.

El trabajo evangelistico continua... la iglesia sigue creciendo en número y en compromiso, toda la iglesia esta muy comprometida a seguir los pasos de Jesús y rogamos de sus oraciones y ayuda para continuar con esta gran y bendito trabajo se enseñara a Jesus al mundo.

The evangelistic work continues... the church keeps growing in number and it's commitment. All of the church is very committed to following the footsteps of Jesus and we plead for your prayers and help to continue with this great and blessed work... teaching Jesus to the world.

Actualmente ya somo 32 personas que nos reunimos cada semana. mas los invitados que todavia no son miembros.
 
So now, we have 32 people meeting with us each week... and even more with our guests who still are not church members.

October 14th mid-week news

Ya casi esta listo el anuncio de la IDC en Gto (Iglesia De Cristo) ya prontito te lo envio, lo que pasa es que estoy muy ocupado con el trabajo en la iglesia, gracias a Dios estamos creciendo y el número de personas que asistieron a la clase de ayer fue de 18 adultos más 6 niños y eso hace que pareciera que estamos en domingo.


The (first) bulletin of the IDC GTO (Church of Christ in Guanajuato) is almost ready and I will send it to you very soon.  What has happened is that I am very busy in the work of the church.  Thanks be to God we are growing.  We had 18 adults and 6 children addend the Wednesday class yesterday.  There were so many people there that it made it seem like a Sunday!

En realidad disfruto mucho mi trabajo con las gentes (el estudiar, platicar sobre sus problemas y muchas cosas mas) Por cierto te dije quer los dias jueves de 6-7:30 p.m. tenemos clases de canto? estoy enseñandoles a varias personas (7) como entonarse para que sea más agradable los cantos del dia domingo, pues los estamos practicando.

I truly enjoy my work with the people (studying, discussing about their problems, and much more)  Surely I told you about our singing class on Thursday from 6-7:30?  I am teaching various people (& of them) how to sing on key so that the Sunday singing will be better.  We are practicing the songs for the Sunday service.

Y la mejor noticia es que Seis personas se bautizarán este domingo ellos son:

Maru, Carla, Emma, Esther, Nayeli y Sergio. El servicio de adoración lo tendremos en un lugar donde hay una alberca.

The best news is that six people will be baptized this Sunday.  They are:  Maru, Carla, Emma, Esther, Nayeli, and Sergio.  We will be having the worship service in a place where there is a pool.

October 8 Update

Queridos hermanos en Cristo.


Muchas gracias por su ayuda y sus oraciones para con la obra misionera en Guanajuato, Mexico.

Estas son algunas de las cosas que estan pasando en la iglesia.

El miercoles 6 nuevamente volvimos a tener estudio con varios de la iglesia y gracias a Dios están asistiendo 2 invitadas (Carla y Jazmin), el estudio que tenemos es El Mesías el Espíritu y el Fuego. (Este estudio esta enfocado a entender porque Jesús se bautizo y si nosotros tambien debemos de hacerlo o no, tambien nos dice (el estudio) si el confesar a Cristo como tu salvador es más que suficiente; En verdad es muy bueno este estudio. he aprendido mucho.

Dear Christian brethren:  Thank you so much for your help and for your prayers for the missionary work in Guanajuato, Mexico.  These are some of the things that are happening in the church.

Wednesday the 6th we returned again to have a study with various people from the church and thanks be to God there were also two guests (Carla and Jazmin) attending. The study that we have is The Messiah, the Spirit, andthe Fire (this study is focused on understanding why Jesus was baptized and if we also should be baptized or not, and the study also talks to us about whether it is enough to just confess Jesus as Savior. The truth is that it is a really good study - I have learned alot.)


El jueves 7 (ayer) como consecuencia de los estudios del El Mesías, el Espíritu y el Fuego 9 personas (de las cuales cada miercoles nos juntamos a estudiar) me pidieron que les enseñara sobre el bautismo y gracias a Dios pienso y creo que 5 estan listos para ser rebautizados (pero en esta ocasión con pleno conocimiento de lo que estarán haciendo); Nuevamente las invitadas volvieron a venir y ellas también parecen animadas a seguir estudiando más de este tema.

On Thursday the 7th (yesterday) as a resut of the study (The Messiah, the Spirit, the Fire) 9 people (of the ones who meet with us each Wednesday to study) asked me that I would teach them about baptism and thanks be to God I think and believe that 5 of them are ready to be re-baptized (but this time with an understanding of what they are doing)  The visitors came back on Thursday, and they seem excited to continue studying about this subject.

Queridos hermanos en Cristo este es el reporte de lo que esta pasando en Gto.


El dia de ayer fuimos en el servicio 31 personas incluyendo a dos invitados.

Gracias a Dios la iglesia está creciendo en número y tambien en estudios Biblicos.

Dear Christian brethren:  This is the report of what is happening in Guanjuato.  Yesterday there were 31 people in the service, including 2 visitors.  Thanks be to God that the church is growing both in numbers and also in Bible studies.

La celula del dia miercoles ha sido de crecimiento pues iniciamos con 10 y ahora ya somos 15 este estudio es: El Mesias el Espiritu y el Fuego. y como resultado de este estudio la familia que actualmente se congrega con nosotros me pidio que los bautizara, sin embargo creo que ellos deben de entender el verdadero significado del bautismo y eso es lo que estaremos estudiando el proximo jueves. (Pido de sus oraciones por mi y por ellos) se llaman Eliodoro 55 años, Maru 55 años (su esposa), Cuahuctemoc 33 años (hijo) Nayelli 30 años (Hija) y su novio Sergio 32 (años); Tambien estan tres personas más Esther su hija Carla y su esposo Enrique.

The Wednesday study group has been growing:  We started with 10 and now we are 15 in this study, called the Messiah, the Spirit, and the Fire.  As a result of this study the family that is now meeting with has has asked me to baptize them, but nevertheless I think that they should entend the true significance of baptism and this is what we will be studing Thursday.  I ask for your prayers for me and for them, they are Eliodoro (age 55), Maru (his wife, also 55), Cuahuctemco (33 years old - their son), their daughet Nayelli (30 years old) and her boyfriend Sergio (32).  Also there are 3 more people: Esther and her daughter Carla and Carla's husband Enrique.
Por favor sigan orando por nosotros, nosotros lo hacemos por ustedes y por la iglesia.

Please continue praying for us. We pray for you all and for the church.
