Dear brothers in Christ. That the peace, mercy, and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. The report of of this week was that there were 19 people mmeting Sunday (truly, we were few), nevertheless I should tell you that I have lots of good news.

There is a young woman named Sandy (the daughter of Sandra) who wants to be baptized (I am sending you her photo). Yesterday we were studying again and she asked that I would baptize her for the forgiveness of her sins (even though there is not a date for this yet because she wants her mother to accompany her for this special day). Her mother is having very difficult times now.

Also the parents of Tere (Jose and Maria) are seriously considering being baptized, because since Tere did it they have been able to see changes in their daughter and they are talking of this theme that is so important for everyone (baptism) (I don't have a picture of them.) Also, thanks be to God and as a result of the eye campaign I already have 2 new studies with Juanita (she uses the wheelchair because of disease in her feet) and Maria (a friend of Juanita) I ask for your prayers for all of them and especially for us. At the same time we give you thanks for your friendship and your help in the missionary work in Gto.
Dios los bendiga

Dear brother in Christ. Thanks to God that yesterday Tere and Cesar were baptized for the forgiveness of their sins yesterday. Tere is working in the Bible school as a teacher and Cesar helps me evangelize people that they knew from times past.

Thanks be to God that 170 people came to the eye campaign, and I already have 2 new studies from those contacts (with more to come we hope!) Things seem to be good and improving and we are content to be able to work for the Lord in His church. God bless your brothers. We hope to see you soon.

Trip July 2009

Familia Ramirez
Guanajuato early in the morning

Somewhere between GTO and DH

In Dolores Hidalgo

Teatro Juarez en el centro

Rick and I just returned from a great (but short) trip to Guanajuato. We arrived Saturday, July 4th and spent some time with the Ramirez family. Sunday worship was nice, with a good attendance and an excellent sermon by brother Raciel. Sunday after worship we had a mini-clinic for vision needs and saw about 40-50 people.
Monday, we had a clinic in Dolores Hidalgo and saw just over 200 people. Some of the church members there made us an excellent lunch, too. Please pray for the work there in DH.

Tuesday, we went to San Luis de la Paz - a new stop for the rolling vision clinic. That congregation is only about 11 months old, but Martin and Rut are doing an excellent job there. We saw about 110 people- not bad for a first clinic. Lunch and fellowship were great.

Wednesday we saw about 170 people in Guanajuato city. We stopped a few minutes for pizza and finished around 4:30pm.

All-in-all we had a great trip. The Rameriz family seems to be in good spirits and the church seems to be doing well (some people come and go, but I think that is to be expected in any church - it is very difficult to convince people to change life-long ways of doing things.)
Stay tuned for the next trip (time TBD) and think about going!!
